Levels Based Privileges
LEVEL-BASED PRIVILEGES & OPPORTUNITIES
Privileges are:
Earned, not automatic
Based on both programs (HorseSense and Horsemanship)
Always subject to instructor discretion
RED / YELLOW
Privileges:
Lesson-only riding
Direct supervision required
Participation in group lessons
No independent riding or horse handling
GREEN
Privileges:
May practice skills during designated open barn times with permission
May assist with grooming and tacking under supervision
Eligible for introductory off-site experiences with instructor
BLUE
Privileges:
Independent practice during approved hours
May ride designated horses without direct supervision
Eligible for horse show participation with a school horse **With Instructor hauling and coaching
May assist lower-level students (non-teaching)
ORANGE
Privileges:
Increased riding independence
Eligible for off-site clinics and shows - with instructor hauling
Eligible to lease higher-level horses
May assist with groundwork or warm-ups
Considered for leadership or assistant roles
PURPLE
Privileges:
Full independent riding privileges (approved horses)
Priority access to advanced clinics
May assist in teaching under supervision
Eligible for advanced leasing or competition opportunities
Eligible for staff-adjacent roles
TEAL
Privileges:
Leadership and mentorship opportunities
Teaching support roles
Independent off-site participation (approved)
Long-term lease or ownership prep
Program ambassador status

Privileges are granted based on demonstrated readiness, consistency, and safety. Advancement through levels does not guarantee access to specific horses or opportunities. Instructor discretion is always final.
